On June 13, 2011, Selkirks-Pend Oreille Transit, affectionately known as SPOT, launched free bus service connecting the communities of Dover, Sandpoint, Ponderay and Kootenai. This non-profit public transportation project was made possible thanks to grants, gifts, and taxpayer support. from local donors.

Panhandle State Bank was proud to donate a major gift to the effort, which will serve as a regional model and connect the communities and recreation areas of North Idaho.

Two SPOT busses will circulate hourly in north and southbound directions along a main route that connects Sandpoint, Ponderay and Kootenai.

Whether heading off to work, the slopes at Schweitzer, the docks at Dover Bay, shopping in Ponderay or playing in downtown Sandpoint, residents and visitors can now leave the driving to SPOT.
